Wildlife Photographer: Giraffe Manor Year: 2013 Why: This photo is two giraffes getting ready to eat breakfast with some humans. I chose this photo because it isn't a generic photo of giraffes. My favorite animals is a giraffe so natural I decided to do a photo with them in it. I think it is very cool that you can eat breakfast with some giraffes peaking their heads through the window.
Travel Photographer: Living + Nomads Year: 2020 Why: This is a photo of Barcelona Spain. My Spanish 2 teacher Mrs. Emerson showed us many photos like this when we learned about Spain. And ever since then I have wanted to go to Spain. This photo is also very cool and colorful and that is why I chose it.
Landscape Photographer: Mikolajn by Shutterstock Year: 2020 Why: I chose this photo because I think it is beautiful and very cool. This is a photo of Limestone karst mountains at James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay. It is in Thailand. Thailand is also another place I would love to visit. I think it's defiantly a bucket list vacation that perfectly describes a beautiful landscape.
Day in the Life Photographer: Cristin More Year: 2018 Why: I chose this photo for a day in the life photo because it is almost aesthetically pleasing. It is cool how the people featured in this photo are in their own world. They aren't paying attention to their camera they are just doing a fun art project together as a family. And they are just enjoying being in the moment.
Historical Event Photographer: NASA Year: 1969 Why: I chose a picture of the fist moon landing because I think it is a very important historical event. I can remember my grandma telling me about it because she was alive when it happened. I also think it is cool that this photo showcases the American flag as well. I think it is very cool that the United States of America were the first people to land on the moon.
Brand Marketing Photographer: Cheesecake Factory Year: Unknown but Recent Why: I chose this photo of cheesecake for the brand marketing because very rarely do I look at a image of food and feel the urge to go buy that item. However, cheesecake from the cheesecake factory is an exception. I felt this was a good example of image marketing that makes people want to buy the product. It looks very fancy and aesthetically pleasing.
News Photographer: Houston Chronicle Year: 2011 Why: I chose this photo because it not only showcases a important photo in history but that every news paper and every news station had this all over the place. This event changed the way many people looked at the world so it was obliviously very important. But, the main reason I chose this image for news is just how quickly the news changed that day. I watched a video that compiled all the news stations that day. They all started out the same that it was a beautiful day. Then they got word that a plane crashed into the world trade center and everything changed.
Politics Photographer: National Park Service Year: 2020 Why: I chose mount Rushmore because it features four very important presidents in U.S. History that all did something that made a difference. I also think its cool that Mount Rushmore is a piece of artwork itself and all the work that went into constructing it. The person who constructed it took into account how the sun would create shadows and if it would alter the monument.
Portrait Photographer: Annie Leibovitz Year: 2012 Why: I chose this photo because I have seen it so many times since I was little. Originally, I didn't know what the photo was of or what it was for. However, now I know it was for the movie adaption for Les Misérables. I think this photo is very cool and it is one that tells a story and leaves you thinking. As well as wanting to keep looking at the photo.
Sports Photographer: Heinrich Hoffmann Year: 1936 Why: I chose this photo of Jesse Owens after he dominated the Olympic games in Berlin in 1936. This photo is very interesting because it is taken by Hitler's personal photographer. Hitler was obviously a horrible person who was racist so this is very cool that Jesse Owens one that day and being an African American and being photographed by Hitler's personal photographer.
